Oca Ipanema Hotel

The reception area was roomy and with staff on duty 24hrs. All the hotel staff were very friendly, most helpful and treated us as more than guests. They were good at recommending places to visit and offering information about local transport and places to eat close to the hotel. The room was pleasant, had a balcony and a view over the city to the harbour and across the bay. It was lovely to be there and watch the sunset if we'd returned before dark. The beds were very comfortable and always looked crisp and white after the room had been made up. Towels were thicker and fluffier than I expected! Buffet breakfast was plentiful with a good selection of fruit, cold meats, and pastries, yoghurts, a hot selection and more from 0700- 1100. The cafeteria was open for coffee and pastries during the day evening meals could be provided and there was a bar open during the day and in the evenings.

Good sized room, very clean, firm bed, quite close to the bus station if you need it (we returned to Porto from here). There was also a small complimentary bottle of water in the room which was thoughtful. Tip. On the opposite side of the road, there's a fabulous organic store that doubles as a cafe.

The locations was great with sea views, restaurants and shopping. The hotel is a bit dated and you can hear the doors opening and closing but it’s peaceful to sleep for being so central. The rooms are quite big and so are the bathrooms. The receptionists were really nice and very friendly.

The hotel is conveniently located close to the bus station and not far from the city centre. The staff at the reception desk was very friendly, competent and helpful. The room was clean, with enough space for two people. It was quiet and the beds were comfortable, so we had good nights sleep. I enjoyed the view of y=the cityscape at night. All in all - good value for money and a perfect start for our Camino!

The room was clean and open, bed was comfortable. Having a restaurant attached was a plus.
